My Approach

Onward Consultants have an inclusive approach, working closely with the leaders (management or pedagogical) and teams to strengthen outcomes and sustain change for improvement. Our bespoke nature of delivery is motivation for contextual change from within, designed to collectively matter to those who are creating and implementing the change.

Onward Consultants will identify the issues, clarify the process forward, and evaluate the result of shifts in thinking and practice. Our strength is in our interactive facilitation achieved through years of experience and practice with outstanding results.

Our Director has a personal interest in the wellbeing and Hauora of our teachers/Kaiako who work with children every day, all day. Teams/groups and children deserve to have people working with them who are ‘at their best’ and are present.

Frances, the Director, is a skilled facilitator who shapes her workshops to the needs of the participants. There is no ‘one size fits all’ in wellbeing. She works within a framework of hauora, te whare tapu wha, and self identity to offer participants the challenging questions around beliefs which in turn transform from emotion into action. Frances has an extensive skillset and toolbox to draw from, including professional supervision, so the learning is pertinent, transformative and personal.

Frances has considerable experience in leadership roles. Over her years in education she has been a leader in many forums.

She has presented internationally in Singapore,  as well as nationally to professional development providers, Kindergarten Associations, Early Childhood Conventions and Early Childhood Council conferences. Frances has worked in senior leadership roles including  Massey University and the Ministry of Education.

An interest in overseas education has included travel to observe education in China and Singapore, to Lima in Peru as a volunteer teacher, to Cosco in Peru as a volunteer to the impoverished people in the Andes, and Ireland to discuss prejudice in the early years.
